This page sets out the transaction details for services booked through tadovisuals.com. TADO Visuals is the photography and design service of Thaddeus Pope, operated by Explore Japan LLC. This page should be read together with the relevant service page, pricing page, FAQ page, and any written quotation or booking agreement.

Practical service details are explained on the relevant service pages listed below. Where terms differ by service, the service-specific terms stated on this page apply.

If your requirements fall outside the published pricing, or if you would like a written quotation, pricing details will be provided promptly by email or in writing on request.

All prices shown are in Japanese yen and include Japanese consumption tax, unless otherwise stated.

商品代金以外の必要料金 | Additional Charges

The following may be charged separately where applicable across photography and design services:

transportation
accommodation
venue access fees or permits
travel days for international assignments (charged at a reduced travel-day rate where applicable)
second photographer or separate videographer fees
advanced retouching
expedited delivery
courier, shipping, or physical-media costs if requested
any other agreed third-party costs necessary to complete the assignment

Travel, accommodation, and third-party costs are quoted separately where needed and must be paid in advance before any related bookings are made.

For action sports photography sessions, lift tickets, equipment rental, travel, transport, and any other access or third-party costs are not included. Clients are responsible for arranging and paying for their own lift tickets, equipment, travel, transport, and any other related costs.

For website design and branding projects, domain-name purchase and registration, hosting, Mailchimp subscription fees, premium plugins, premium themes, stock-image licences, external platform fees, and any other third-party costs are not included unless stated otherwise. Where they apply, those costs will be identified clearly in advance and should be paid by the client separately.

Payment may be made by:

お支払い時期 | Payment Timing

For event, wedding, and action sports photography services, a 50% non-refundable retainer is required to reserve the date.

For event photography, the remaining service balance is due 30 days before the event, unless otherwise agreed in writing. If an event booking is made within 30 days of the booked date, the remaining service balance is due immediately.
For wedding photography, the remaining service balance is due 30 days before the wedding, unless otherwise agreed in writing. If a wedding booking is made within 30 days of the booked date, the remaining service balance is due immediately.
For action sports photography sessions, the remaining balance is due before the session.

Travel, accommodation, and other third-party costs must be paid in advance before those costs are booked or incurred, where applicable.

Final images or other deliverables are provided only after all invoices have been paid in full, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

For website design and branding projects, payment timing will be confirmed in the written proposal or agreement for the project.

役務の提供時期 | Timing of Service Provision

Photography coverage is provided on the booked date or dates.

For event photography, edited images are usually delivered within 5 to 7 business days of the assignment, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

For wedding photography, edited images are usually delivered within 4 to 8 weeks of the wedding, depending on schedule and the scale of the coverage, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

For action sports photography sessions, edited images are usually delivered within 5 to 7 days of the session, depending on schedule and the scale of the session, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Expedited delivery or a small set of early highlights may be arranged in advance for an additional fee, where applicable.

Action sports photography sessions are subject to weather, visibility, snow conditions, lift operations, resort rules, and current mountain conditions. Photography outside the resort’s controlled areas is not guaranteed and cannot be promised in advance. If conditions make photography unsafe, unworkable, or materially limit the resort’s rideable terrain, the session may need to be adjusted, shortened, or rescheduled where possible.

Website design and branding work is delivered according to the agreed project schedule and scope.

予約の成立時期 | When a Booking Is Confirmed

For event, wedding, and action sports photography services, a booking is confirmed only when:

availability has been confirmed in writing, and
the 50% non-refundable retainer has been received.

Until both conditions are met, the date or project slot is not reserved.

For website design and branding projects, a project is confirmed when the written proposal or agreement has been accepted and any required initial payment has been received, where applicable. Until those steps are completed, the project slot is not reserved.

キャンセル・変更・返金 | Cancellations, Changes, and Refunds

All cancellations must be made in writing by email.

For event and wedding photography:

If the client cancels more than 30 days before the booked event or wedding:

the 50% retainer is non-refundable
any travel, accommodation, or other third-party costs already paid or incurred are also non-refundable
any other sums paid toward the remaining service balance will be refunded

If the client cancels within 30 days of the booked event or wedding:

the 50% retainer is non-refundable
the remaining service balance is still payable in full
any travel, accommodation, or other third-party costs already paid or incurred are also non-refundable

Once travel, accommodation, or other third-party costs have been booked or paid, those costs are non-refundable, even if the assignment is later cancelled.

For action sports photography sessions:

If the client cancels more than 7 days before the session:

the 50% retainer is non-refundable
any amount paid above the retainer will be refunded

If the client cancels within 7 days of the session:

all payments already made are non-refundable

If the client does not attend the session without prior written notice:

all payments already made are non-refundable

Any requested change of date or session plan is subject to availability, mountain conditions, and resort operations and must be confirmed in writing.

Where weather, lift operations, resort restrictions, or mountain conditions make an action sports photography session unsafe or unworkable, the session may be adjusted, shortened, or rescheduled where possible, subject to availability.

If an action sports photography session cannot reasonably go ahead because of unsafe or unworkable conditions and cannot be rescheduled, any amount paid for the unperformed session will be refunded.

If an action sports photography session cannot continue or is materially affected because of camera or equipment failure despite reasonable backup measures, reasonable efforts will be made to continue the session, arrange a rescheduled session where possible, or refund the portion of the fee attributable to the unperformed part of the session, as appropriate.

Any requested change to dates, timing, location, or scope is subject to availability and must be agreed in writing. A revised quotation may be required.

For website design and branding projects, cancellation terms, revision terms, and any scope-change terms will be set out in the written proposal or agreement for the project. Revisions within the agreed scope may be included as set out there, while material scope changes may require a revised quotation.

返品について | Returns

Because the services offered through this site are photography services, digital image delivery, and design services, physical returns do not apply.

著作権・利用許諾 | Copyright and Licence

Once the invoice has been paid in full, the client receives a non-exclusive licence to use the images as follows:

for event photography, for the client’s own website, social media, press, internal communications, and promotional materials related to the assignment, event, or organisation
for wedding photography, for the client’s personal website, social media, personal prints, wedding announcements, and non-commercial sharing related to the wedding
for action sports photography sessions, for personal use, including the client’s own social media, personal website, and personal prints

Images may not be sold, transferred, sublicensed, or provided to third parties without prior written permission. Any independent third-party use may require a separate licence and additional fee.

Credit is appreciated where practical, but is not required unless agreed in writing in advance.

Exclusive or private-use arrangements may be available by prior written agreement for an additional fee and are quoted case by case.

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, the photographer may use selected images from the assignment for portfolio display, website content, social media, editorial submissions, competitions, and related self-promotional materials. If confidentiality, private-use restrictions, or additional permissions are required, these must be agreed in writing before the booking is confirmed.

For website design and branding projects, the client will own the finished website and the core business assets connected to it, subject to the terms agreed in writing for the project. Domain names, hosting, and third-party platform accounts should ordinarily remain under the client’s control, and the exact ownership and usage terms for project deliverables will be confirmed in the written proposal or agreement.
