Intro
I offer action sports photography at Furano Ski Resort for skiers and snowboarders who want strong images of their time on the mountain. I work in English and accompany clients on the slopes to photograph the speed, movement, and shape of a day in the snow.
This service grows out of two long-standing parts of my life: photography and snowboarding. After many seasons riding at Furano, I know the mountain well enough to work with it visually as well as practically. The photography is mainly action-focused, but depending on who I am photographing, it can also include quieter images that preserve the wider feel of the day, especially for couples, families, and small groups.
On-Mountain Sessions
Sessions are available in two private formats: 3 hours and 6 hours.
A shorter session suits people who want a focused block of photography and a strong set of action images without committing a full day. A longer session gives more room to move across the mountain, work in different light and conditions, and build a broader edit that captures both the riding and the experience around it.
How I Work
I ride with clients on the mountain and photograph them in motion. The emphasis is on making strong, well-timed images that show people riding well and looking their best on the snow.
That means paying attention to more than just the rider. It means watching the light, the terrain, the background, the line of a turn, and where to position myself so that the image works. The aim is not to turn a day on the mountain into a production, but to photograph it in a way that feels natural and still produces images with real energy and clarity.
This is a photography service only. It is not ski instruction, snowboard instruction, or guiding.
Why Furano
Furano is the mountain I know best. I have spent a great deal of time there as a snowboarder, primarily within the resort’s controlled terrain and, where permitted and appropriate, in gate-accessed areas under Furano’s rules. That familiarity helps me judge where a rider will look strongest, where the light is working, and which parts of the mountain are likely to produce the cleanest and most rewarding images on a given day.
It also means I know how Furano rides. I know where broad turns open up well, where the terrain gives an image room to breathe, and where the mountain’s well-known powder can look at its best in a frame. For clients, that makes the session feel smoother, more purposeful, and more rooted in the place itself.
Sidecountry photography is not a standard or promised part of the service, and any access beyond controlled terrain depends on resort rules, conditions, safety, and the suitability of the group on the day.
Who This Is For
This service is suited to solo skiers and snowboarders, couples, families, friends, and small groups. It can work for confident riders who want action images, for visitors who want a lasting visual record of their trip, or for people who want something between the two.
You do not need to be an expert rider to book a session. What matters more is that the session is shaped around your level, your pace, and the kind of photographs you want to come away with.
Safety and Mountain Conditions
All sessions are subject to weather, visibility, snow conditions, lift operations, and resort rules. Photography outside the resort’s controlled areas is not guaranteed and will only be considered where access is permitted, conditions are suitable, and it is safe and appropriate on the day.
Clients remain responsible for their own skiing or snowboarding decisions and must ride within their ability. This is a photography service only, not ski instruction, snowboard instruction, or guiding. If conditions are unsafe, unsuitable, or restricted, the session may need to be adjusted accordingly.
